Who are Yeadon Cricket Club and what are our values and aims in the community?

History

Founded in 1859, we are a club with a wonderful cricketing history, which can be seen on the History/Achievements page on this site. The first team is supported by a progressive playing structure. On a Saturday, our 1stand 2nd teams compete in the Bradford League, in Division One (1sts) and Premier League (2nds).

We also run an expanding and successful Junior section at the club, which feeds in to the various regional and county age-group squads in the area. In 2021 we will be represented by the age-groups U9's, U11s, U13's and U15s playing in various league, and county cup competitions.

By holding the England & Wales Cricket Board's (ECB's) 'Clubmark' accreditation, Yeadon CC is recognised as providing good quality cricket programmes for young people. In addition, the 'Clubmark' accreditation scheme is fully integrated with 'Safe Hands', the ECB's welfare of young people policy.

Our Vision and Values

Our vision is to provide a safe, diverse and inclusive area for everyone to learn cricket, progress or take part

Our Values are:

Respect

We show respect to everyone regardless of age, race or gender, on and off the field. We treat Umpires and Club officials with respect at all times.

Encourage

We encourage players from the youngest age group to the oldest senior player by offering support to players and also to volunteers who help the club run.

Accountable

We show accountability and responsibility on and off the field and in the wider community as ambassadors for the club

Community

We have been at the heart of the community and run by volunteers since 1859 and will always support the local community by offering our field and facilities and our people when they are needed.

Teamwork

Teamwork flows throughout the club from the Committee, Bar Staff, Members, Players and Parents. We are nothing without the support of one another.

Success

We celebrate success and failure with humility. We WIN as one and we LOSE as one, we are all one team, we are YCC.

CLUB - TEAM - SELF

Community

We support our local community with offering charities and not for profits a chance to use our facilities and be part of our club.

Join us - Junior Cricket

Our Junior Section is a fantastic way to get your kids out of the house and get some exercise, meet other kids to socialise and learn new skills.

Our Yeadon Stars Programme starts with 5-9 year olds creating a fun, safe space to learn new skills. Each child gets a free goody bag containing kit, equipment and a ball.

We develop starting with U9 games and then on to hard ball for U11 and U13 games with us then progressing through to U15s and U17/U18s.

We also have a pathway from Junior to Senior cricket with our 3XI meaning kids can enjoy their debut in a mixed team of adults and kids.

We use SPOND to organise our Junior Teams.
